Classify as an Independent Contractor Within the last few years, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and various other State and Federal agencies have greatly increased their efforts to ensure that companies comply with laws regarding ICs (Independent Contractors). Their primary focus is the misclassification of non-employee workers as ICs. Both individuals and small entities may be considered ICs. Given the significant financial risk to budgets and the company's bottom line if contract workers are ruled to be misclassified, Intuit has partnered with ICon Professional Services to accurately classify our contract workers. The classification process is designed to ensure that contract workers are properly classified at the start of a project. ICon’s automated classification process will streamline and expedite the engagement of contract workers. If you are not properly set up and operating as a separate business, you will still have the option to work on the project, as an ICon Payrolled Contractor. We appreciate and thank you in advance for your support.
